My Mother’s Birthday in Paris

Last weekend was my mother’s birthday and she came to Paris to celebrate it. I had bought her some nice Berko cupcakes. In the afternoon we went shopping on the Champs Elysées. Since I’m not going to see her on my birthday in November, she already bought me two beautiful sweaters.

We had dinner at Le Bistro du 17ème (108, Avenue de Villiers, 75017 Paris) near my place. There we met this amazing couple Simone and Pierre. It was Pierre’s birthday as well and Simone actually worked for Christian Dior and Yves Saint-Laurent back in the days.

After our dinner we went to Rue Montorgueil in the 2nd arrondissement to have a last drink.

The next day we had brunch in Breakfast in America in Le Marais. Since the shops are open on Sunday in Le Marais, we decided to shop some more. My mother found a pair of mesmerizing pearl-coloured earrings at Gavilane. Actually it’s an up-market gothic boutique, but if you make an effort you can find beautiful objects without knuckleheads as well.

We’d planned to go to the Larry Clark exposition at the Musée d’Art Moderne, but since there were too many people waiting to get in, we changed our plans and went to the Eiffel Tour and Place Vendôme. Just like the real tourists.
